I absolutely LOVE mountain climbers. I think they’re a fantastic integrated movement that requires strength and stability from head to toes to perform correctly. Unfortunately, the ‘perform correctly’ part rarely seems to happen. And if there’s one thing I hate to see, it’s the desecration of the mountain climber. In the video below, I talk about three major technique flaws that I tend to see:

 

1. Hip raise + lumbar flexion
2. Hip drop + lumbar extension
3. Hip rotation with each rep
