The emotional response that television has the power to elicit fascinates me. When characters feel love, you want to feel love. When they experience stress, you can’t help but wonder how it feels. When they’re in between a rock and a hard place, you root for them, through and through.
But it’s like wrestling; in a sense, it’s all a sham. The goal of television however, like any recreational activity, is to entertain. You become attached to the cast, to the happenings. It’s like your own private fantasy land. Commercials and heart dropping cliffhangers are the only obstructions.
