To Avery 20th We Go!

Well, in two weeks. Minor details…

But I can wait two weeks, because I’m pumped. I received my complimentary passes today, courtesy of Jess, one of Avery’s Beer Badassadors (what a cool fucking title). The details are few, but sometimes few is just what I want…especially when it’s worded like so:Continue reading “To Avery 20th We Go!”

Site Makeover

20130716-154604.jpg

Once again, this site has undergone a complete overhaul. The style, tone, and content have all changed. Well, the content will change if I’m good about creating it.

As for what kind of content you’ll see, give this a quick read. For those that refuse to click through, here’s a brief run-down:

Education. Misc. Fitness. Style. Travel. Adventure. Craft beer. Lifestyle. Hobbies.

Eventually, I’d like for Chasing Life to become a respected lifestyle blog. There are TONS of lifestyle bloggers out there, however, so that’s a lofty goal. I’d settle for putting out a small amount of quality content that’s appreciated by 5 or 10 readers. Much more attainable, yeah?

Beer of the Week: Marble IPA

20130712-155620.jpg

Marble Brewery – Albuquerque, NM
India Pale Ale – 6.8% ABV

Immediately after college, I lived in Albuquerque for a year. And I got to know Marble Brewery WELL. Luckily, it’s available up here in Fort Collins, and one of my favorite easy-drinking IPA’s.

It has a nice copper color – typical of a single IPA, nothing special, but certainly not ugly. It’s sadly bland on the nose. There’s a bit of orange in there, piney bitterness, but not too much else. But the taste is spot on. Orange peel. Lots of orange, actually. Definitely some mango. Great tropical fruit notes. Great carbonation, good lacing, and goes down like like a session ale. A bit light in body, but that’s part of what makes Marble IPA such a great summer beer.

Resurrection 2.0

One post in the last year is PA-THET-IC. What kind of writer am I if I don’t actually write?? No writer at all, obviously. So once again, I’m here to bring this blog back to life.

I didn’t really succeed writing about just fitness, so it’s time to try something new. I’m going to focus on fitness, beer, and what’s changing in my life (education, style, becoming a big boy). And I’ll probably throw some mountain love into the mix.

It’s not Spring, but fuck it…out with the old, in with the new!
